Larry is around 2 years old and is a lemon Dalmatian cross. He is looking for a home with some experience. He could live with children over 8 years old, and another well balanced dog or on his own.
Firstly, it has to be said, Larry is absolutely lovely!
Sadly, Larry hasn't had the best start in life. He was removed from his previous household in the North East of England on grounds of welfare. He was one of 14 Dalmatian type dogs who were also rescued. As a result, he has little experience of the outside world. However, he is in a foster home now and is coming on leaps and bounds. He is gaining in confidence every day.
Larry loves people! He would be a super dog for a single person, a couple or family with older children (or dog savvy younger kids). He appears quite scared of cats, so may be able to adapt to living with them, given time.
This super fella walks well on his harness and lead - in fact, he loves walking! He is not recall trained yet so isn't allowed off the lead unless in a secure environment. He is house trained.
He can be a little bit nervous around new people, but shows no reactivity. He is just a bit of a scaredy boy at the moment because he has limited life experience. A patient and compassionate adopter will be the key to this boy's continued development.
We think that a predictable routine will also help him greatly, in a nice calm household. At present, he doesn't want to be left alone for too long, so ideally he needs guardians who work from home or who don't have long working days.
Larry really is an absolutely lovely boy who is sure to become a much loved companion in his new home.
