General Ad Posting Rules
You warrant and agree that you will comply with the following conditions when posting any advert on Pets4Homes:
- Any pets advertised by you must be owned or have been bred yourself unless you are a registered charity or rescue organisation on Pets4Homes.
- To meet PAAGs minimum standards, we reserve the right to refuse any advert(s) that may compromise them.
- We enforce age restrictions on when pets can be rehomed/collected in line with animal welfare guidance. For dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets they cannot be separated from their mother before 8 weeks of age, and for Chinchillas at 12 weeks of age. Foals must be at least 6 months old before they leave their mother.
- In the case of advertising a litter, the litter must be advertised together and you are required to upload a photo of the litter together with their mother. This includes dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and chinchillas.
- When uploading an advert, you must disclose the pet’s full breed for transparency with the buyer. If the pet is a crossbreed, it should be advertised in the specific crossbreed category if it exists, or advertised in the mixed breed category. You may also choose the closest relevant breed category if you prefer.
- When uploading an advert, it must be posted in the correct category (Sale, Adoption, or Stud). Only registered rescues and charities are permitted to post cats and dogs in the Adoption category.
- All uploaded photos of pets must be of the actual pet you wish to rehome, and not copied/downloaded pictures of other pets from the internet.
- At Pets4Homes, we do not permit adverts that promote or infer that pets are gifts or presents, e.g. for special holidays like Christmas, Easter, or Valentine’s Day.
- Pets advertised must be located in the UK. The images and location stated on your listing is the actual location where the animal is currently and permanently housed.
- Rescue pets from abroad may be advertised by a registered charity account if the pets are currently in the UK, have all required documentation, and are vaccinated/microchipped following UK standards and law.
- We do not allow any pets to be advertised which have been imported to the UK for the purpose of being sold. You may advertise older pets which you had imported legally as your own pet, but now need to rehome. You must state the country of birth/origin of the pet in your advert description.
- We do not allow any imported pets under 6 months old to be advertised regardless of the circumstances.
- We do not allow pregnant pets or a pet that you think may be pregnant to be advertised. This includes horses.
- It is not permitted to upload any advertisements seeking to swap or exchange any pet.
- We do not allow selective breeding or ads promoting extreme conformations or features in pets.
- Each advert you post will remain live on our platform for 60 days from the date of submission. After expiration (or once all the pets have been reserved/sold) you are expected to close the advert. If necessary, you can create a new listing with up-to-date information. You may not reuse the same listing with modified details to advertise different pets or a different litter from the original advert.
- You must clearly identify all health and welfare issues associated with any pet you wish to re-home.
- We do not permit adverts for pets that offer delivery or courier service. A pet in a litter must be collected at the house where the mother of the litter lives. All pets for rehoming must be available for viewing at your home or place of business.
